Viking Doom

Screenplay by Scott Svatos

The world's greatest metal fan fights for his life after getting caught videotaping the secret show of a black metal band, servants of a resurrected Viking demon.

Scott says:

"I wrote this movie while listening to black metal bands like Emperor and finding myself completely drawn in by the dark, evocative world depicted in the music and cover art. I wanted to create a movie that took place in this world and that would be packed from start to finish with heavy metal -- and especially black metal. I based the initial story on events that took place in Norway in the mid-Nineties when local youths burnt churches as part of a literal effort to cast Christianity from the land. I recontextualized these events to America, setting them in the gloomy forests of Northern Michigan, where a group of youths of Scandinavian heritage have taken church burning a step further by enlisting a Viking demon to drive Christianity from the U.P.
